The Peata Caring Pet 2007 brings joy to Children
Chang, a 7 ½ year old Pekingese was awarded Peata Caring Pet of the Year 2007 in October, and his mate Magic, a 3 year old Tibetan spaniel, and their owner Marie Waters, who visit the children at The Children's Sunshine Home every Wednesday. Walk for Children 2007 - The Great Wall of China Challenge
This 62km trek across the Great Wall will took place in October and raised an estimated €110,000 in funds for our Hospice Project.

Update on Ireland's First Children's Hospice
Since the *Children's Sunshine Home Hospice Project's launch in 2005, involving the extension of existing services and the provision of community based specialist palliative care services for children nationally, with the aim being to provide for up to 300 children and their families at any one time, €2.5m has been raised
Recently confirmed total costs for Phase I of the project for the building of four new bungalows - LauraLynn House and the three additional respite and residential bungalows - is €11.3m
Family Fun Day
An opportunity for our families, children and their siblings to come enjoy fun and games where their sister/brother spends time. Also our thanks to our endless supporters, volunteers and their families. It may have rained but that certainly didn't dampen the spirits of our families and children at the Family Fun Day on Sunday 2nd September. Faces were still painted, castles bounced on, and races run (though indoors instead of outside).more >>
The Lifecycle 2007 event at Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club was in aid of The Children's Sunshine Home Hospice Project.
The event which took place in June raised over 95k with all proceeds going toward the building/equipping of a Special Baby Care Unit as part of the Hospice Project.

Children's Sunshine Home National Winner of HSE Innovation Awards for its Palliative Care Services.
The coveted national innovation award from the Health Service Executive was won for the development of palliative care services for very sick children. The service was developed in response to the increase in referrals of very ill children requiring support. Many of these children would have traditionally been cared for in the acute hospital setting.
